I visited Leicester Cathedral about two weeks ago. This cathedral was beautiful, with stunning stained glass windows and the grave of Richard III. I visited the cathedral as I saw the Richard III exhibition and then wanted to see the grave in the cathedral.
The cathedral was created with English Gothic architecture and links back to my Architecture project I am doing in my Textile A-level. When I was in the cathedral, I sketched a little, but when I got home, I added significant amounts to the sketch.
I was inspired by a stained glass window, hence the orange, red and blue biro drawing. I also did some left-handed continuous line drawing, which I then added to with shading with a biro. I cut out parts of the window to emphasise the lead-work and you can also look through to the page afterwards.
