This was my first experience of New Designers. Our Textiles group went in order to gain some inspiration for our projects and it really helped me to improve my presentational techniques. There are also a couple of courses, other than Textiles, that were presenting at the exhibition such as Ceramics and Jewellery.

If you do not know what New Designers is, it is an exhibition where the final year students display their work. The exhibition takes place in Islington at the Business Design Centre and work is displayed over three levels. Companies visit as well in order to scout out the new talent and give out prizes.

When I went there were a couple of universities which stood out immediatley to me such as Huddersfield, Nottingham Trent and Loughborough.

This exhibition was the perfect opportunity to compare the work of different universities as well as talking some of the students about the course and their thoughts on it. You have the opportunuity to look through portfolios, sketchbooks as well as recieving many postcards and business cards.
I would strongly suggest a visit to New Designers, even if you are not looking at universities as it is a great source of inspiration.
