I caved! I just had to do a bit of physical textiles rather than painting a picture.

This brief was perfect for some appliqué. It required you to create 3D looking effects for some wallpaper. Now usually, I am all for a bit of pen to paper, but I realised that I didn’t really get my sewing machine or really anything that had something to do with the textile creation process.

Anyway. I wanted to create a sample inspired by the arches of the Alhambra. Appliqué is a great technique to illustrate a 3D effect and was just the perfect medium to show this. I think the image really talks for itself here, so here you go!
